About the President
Joanne Michener MSN, RN
President, USA
Center
Joanne has over 20 years of experience in Critical Care, Emergency and Trauma Nursing. She earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia where she was awarded a dual Clinical Specialty title in both Critical Care and Psychiatric Nursing.
She served as the Psycho-Social Liaison on the Trauma Service in the Department of Surgery and Emergency Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital through a grant from the William Penn Foundation. In this role, she worked closely with families of traumatically injured patients, assisting them to cope with the stress of their injuries and/or resulting lifestyle changes.
She has maintained a private practice in health consultation, sports motivation and counseling, where she specializes in the mental aspect of sports performance. Her consultations and workshops are especially popular because she is able to take a subject that to many athletes is stressful, and make it "fun". Joanne has also participated in various sports including Basketball, Field Hockey, Gymnastics and Amateur Figure Skating. She currently teaches Beginner Roller Skating classes.
